Irricom will participate in Sipsa Filaha & Agrofood, the international agriculture, livestock and agro-industry fair, which will be held in Algiers from 20 to 23 May. The theme chosen by the organizers for 2024 is: “Sustainable agriculture for a food-secure Africa”.

The Algiers Fair, now in its 21st edition, is an important opportunity for companies, industry experts, government institutions and other key players to present their innovations, products and services related to the agricultural and food sector. Irricom is present in the Italian Pavilion with its own stand.

According to Ice, the agency for the promotion abroad and the internationalization of Italian companies, agriculture represents the third most important economic sector in Algeria, contributing significantly to the country’s GDP. Agricultural, livestock and fisheries activities have seen a steady increase over the previous decade, accounting for around 12% of GDP in 2022. Agriculture in Algeria is becoming increasingly crucial to diversifying the country’s economy, thus reducing dependence on food imports and meeting national food security needs.
